Print design: brochures
International House London brochures
Creating a suite of high calibre brochures in time for a crucial annual event.
International House London is a language school in the heart of Covent Garden in London. They also have young learner summer schools in prestigious locations across the UK.
I was commissioned by IH London to design a suite of brochures — in both print and digital formats — in time for a crucial annual event.
There are three brochures in the series:
A 32-page summary brochure, featuring a vibrant colour scheme, showcasing different centres and courses for children aged 8-17.
The brochure conveys the key messages: that children will learn English language skills, make new friends from all over the world, experience British culture and visit some of the most famous places in the world.
This brochure is designed to work alongside the in-depth digital brochures I also designed for each of their young learner centres.
A 56-page brochure, aimed at adults aged 16+.
The brochure showcases IH London’s offering of a full range of English courses and English exam preparation courses, to teach and prepare students for everything they want to achieve in English.
I also designed a separate insert for dates and fees, as well as interactive PDF application forms.
A 68-page brochure, aimed at teachers looking for training and development courses at every stage of their teaching career.
The IH London founders pioneered the first qualification for teaching English as a foreign language: it is now known as the CELTA and assessed by the University of Cambridge.
As this brochure is lengthy, I designed colour-coded sidebars as a wayfinding mechanism, showing the current section of the brochure. This means someone can easily flick through to find the relevant section: start teaching, CELTA, qualified teachers, Delta, trainers and managers, and bespoke courses.
The final brochures appeal to the appropriate key stakeholders, from children and their parents, to more mature students and the travel agents selling the courses.
The overall design was refreshed to bring it in line with their recently launched website and the brochures provide a crucial part of the customer journey to the booking process.
Collaborating with the Head of Marketing, and working closely with their copywriter, enabled us to hit a very tight print deadline. This ensured IH London had high calibre brochures to hand out to prospects at the event.
“We engaged the services of Arnott Design for the second year running to create a suite of marketing brochures for our different business streams. We chose to use Arnott Design again because I can trust Karen to design beautiful brochures that help achieve our marketing goals, as well as ensuring the project management side of things runs smoothly. The completed brochures have exceeded our expectations.“
