Creating an introductory guide to vertical farming.
The project
Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS) create intelligent indoor climates to deliver ideal conditions for life, people and plants. Vertical farming is a viable route for farmers and other food producers to create a consistent, reliable product regardless of location.
I was commissioned by IGS to design a summary paper ‘Vertical Farming: sustainable food security for a changing world’.
The brief was to produce a visually impactful introductory paper, which adheres to the existing IGS brand style, using the content and photographs provided. I was also responsible for designing several bespoke illustrations to further explain and enhance the content.

This introductory paper breaks down all things vertical farming including what can be grown vertically, the amount of land required and how exactly it all works.
The IGS introduction guide to vertical farming is aimed at those who are:
- interested in learning more about vertical farming;
- undertaking due diligence prior to starting their own vertical farming facility; or
- enhancing their existing operation.
The outcome
I worked closely with the IGS communications team in the UK and US to complete this digital introductory guide.
The final summary delivers a visually appealing guide introducing the concept of vertical farming.
